We are excited to announce that as of June 1, 2023 our teams will be known as the Elmira Impact with the same beloved colors and hero logo! Our new brand reflects the positive impact our organization has on our players and our community!
Glen Patterson returns for his third season with the Elmira Impact organization. He will serve as Hockey Director/Premier Head Coach. Glen will oversee both our teams as well as lead player development and player advancement to college hockey and higher-level junior hockey. “I have seen and felt as a player how much the Elmira fans and community support local hockey,” Patterson said. “I love playing here and I am thrilled by the opportunity to coach here.” “I guarantee our fans one thing: We will play anexciting brand of hockey bringing one hundred percent effort on every shift every night,” Patterson continued. “With our fan support, a first-class facility in First Arena, and the player amenities we offer, we can build on the success of last season.” A native of Cobden, Ontario, Patterson played more than 250 professional games during a six-year playing career in the United States, Sweden, and New Zealand. “Glen played a big role in what we achieved in our first two seasons advancing 19 players beyond Tier 3 junior hockey,” noted Elmira Impact President Tim Kolpien. “He and his staff will take our program and our players to even greater heights both on and off the ice in the 2022-23 season.”

Matt Maniglia joins our 2022-23 coaching staff in the role of Elite Head Coach. Maniglia, a native of Brooklyn, NY, comes to Elmira after two seasons as an assistant coach with the Great Falls Americans of the NA3HL. His four-season playing career in juniors included stops with the USPHL’s Florida Eels, Jersey Shore Whalers, and New York Aviators.
“Matt knows the USPHL, he undertstands the juinior hockey landscape and he knows the Mid-Atlantic having played for both the Aviators and Whalers,” said Kolpien. “His extraordinary experience at a young age and hunger to be successful drive him as a coach. He will help our younger players develop and we are very happy to welcome him to Elmira.”
“I am forever grateful for the coaching opportunity I had in Great Falls with the Americans,” said Maniglia. “I am extremely excited to be working with Glen in Elmira. We are looking to build something special here and develop a team that makes the fans and the city of Elmira proud. I am extremely excited to get to work and start the upcoming season with the Elmira Impact.”
“As an organization we are thrilled to bring Matt onto our staff” exclaimed Premier head coach Glen Patterson. “He brings a wealth of knowledge into Tier 3 junior hockey, as he has both coached and played at this level. He brings experienc and excitement to our staff.”
